Last Minute Halloween Costume
In the spirit of Halloween on Wednesday, I have decided to share my costume with you all in hopes that I can spark some of your creativity if you have not yet found a costume. This is very DIY and super easy to gather all of the clothing from a thrift store, which I love! I decided to go as a scarecrow this year, mainly because I did not want to spend a lot of money on a costume.
I had a lot of plaid shirts lying around because I love me some plaid (Mrs. Dean Winchester at your service) so that is where the scarecrow idea came into play. I got the distressed jeans and tan crop top I’m wearing from a coworker’s daughter. The hat I have I got from my local thrift store who know me by face (I don’t shop there enough as you can tell). The boots I am wearing I got from a family member for Christmas a few years ago.
When looking up costumes on Pinterest, I knew I wanted to do something different from the generic stitching look for the face. I found this look and was instantly in love with it. It is such a pretty look, and so different from the normal scarecrow makeup look. It’s also simple enough for everyone to do in some capacity and will still stand out and look good for those of us who wear glasses.
The responses to my costume have been overwhelmingly good. My roommate favored the makeup flower, which I admit, I had higher hopes for. She stated that I did it better than she would have had she attempted it. I received a lot of compliments on my un-original take on it.
